Connecting AudioCodes Devices to Live Platform

When Hybrid devices are attached to a Hybrid service customer, they are added to Live Platform under their Service Provider or Reseller domain. You should provide the username and password for the WebSocket VPN tunnel and the Incremental INI file including related configuration to the customer onboarding the Hybrid service. Users can be added in WebSocket Tunnel Users. In addition, an SNMP connection must also be configured as described below.

In cases where the customer does not have a domain then the default domain of AudioCodes Services can be used. In this case, devices are added using Auto-detection. See Connecting Devices Automatically.

SNMP is used to establish an initial connection with the device for provisioning and in addition, for daily operations, including maintenance actions and fault and performance management. SNMPv3 provides more sophisticated security mechanisms than SNMPv2c. It implements a user-based security model (USM), allowing both authentication and encryption of the requests sent between the Live Platform and agents, as well as user-based access control.

The SNMP connection must be configured on both Live Platform and the device. SNMP parameters include specifying the IP address of the Live Platform server. All traps are sent from the device to this address. For establishing the connection with Live Platform, this is the destination address for the coldStart and Keep-alive traps.

Associating an SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 trap user with the Live Platform server destination. The Keep-alive trap indicates whether the device is configured for SNMPv2 or SNMPv3. The configured SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 user credentials are verified with the following default Live Platform configuration:
SNMPv2: SNMPReadCommunity string ‘public’ and SNMPWriteCommunity string ‘private’ and Trap User 'trapuser'
SNMPv3: User ‘OVOCUser’; Auth protocol ‘SHA’; Privacy protocol ‘AES- 128’; default password ‘123456789’

Identical SNMP parameter values must be configured on the device and in Live Platform Device details (see figure below). If different values are configured on the device, it's added to Live Platform as 'Unknown' until updated in Live Platform. The defaults under the SNMP tab are taken from the SNMP tenant profile for both SNMPv2 and SNMPv3. SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 credentials are configured in the device Web interface. SNMP settings connect the devices and Live Platform (see figures below).

The connection process should be performed in the following sequence:

1. Step 1: Add AudioCodes device in Live Platform (see Step 1- Add AudioCodes Device in Live Platform)
2. Step 2: Configure AudioCodes device (see Step 2- Configure AudioCodes Device to connect to Live Platform)
3. Step 3: Verify device is successfully connected (see Step 3: Verify Device is Connected)
